CURSO DE DESARROLLO PROFESIONAL
(PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE)

"Depósitos epitermales: caracterización, controles y guías de exploración"
(Epithermal Deposits: Characterization, Controls, and Exploration Guidelines)

With Dr. Diego Guido

 IN-PERSON in Lima, PERU

 December 9 - 11, 2026 (3 full days) (Wednesday to Friday)

8:30am to 5pm each day

Visión general del curso:
(Course Overview)

(Epithermal deposits constitute one of the most important sources of gold and silver in the world, and are especially significant within the geological context of Latin America and its Andean margin.)

(This 3-day training aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of epithermal systems, covering the processes that explain their formation, their various typologies, and their lateral and vertical variations.)

(The controls (structural, lithological, and/or hydrothermal) that favor the formation of traps where economic ore deposits are hosted will be
 explained in detail.
)

Descripción del curso:
(Course Description)

(Given the potential for future discoveries of epithermal deposits in covered areas or otherwise barren zones—specifically those associated with
shallow environments or paleosurfaces—a detailed description of the shallow epithermal environment will be provided, where non-outcropping
mineralization may occur beneath lithocaps or fossil geothermal systems.)

(Finally, the discussion will delve into modern tools for their study—including geological modeling and other instruments for gaining a
better understanding of them—thereby enabling the creation of a predictive model for exploration or production.)

(The proposal also includes a practical examination of a collection of rock samples representative of the various types of deposits, as
well as their vertical and lateral variations within each category.)

Quiénes deberían asistir:
(Who Should Attend)

(
This course is aimed at professionals in the mining industry who wish to update and deepen their knowledge of epithermal systems, with a focus on understanding their genesis and the mechanisms by which they are trapped, in order to facilitate the development of predictive models that support exploration and/or production.)
