Description With practically all of the world's near surface deposits being exposed, future discoveries will need to be made in areas with extensive transported cover. Geologists will need to use the most up to date tools, which include using geochemical exploration methods. These two days of power point lectures will cover the topics of primary dispersion, secondary dispersion, sampling strategies, seeing thru transported cover, analytical methods, quality control, data analysis, multi-elemental methods such as partial and selective leaches as well as field based soil pH techniques. The course will also cover case studies from geochemical surveys in diverse physiographic and climatic environments from around the world. The course will be presented in English. Who should attend This course is suitable for exploration geologists ranging from new graduates who will benefit from a presentation of the basic principles, to more senior geologists who have an interest in developing their skills in applied geochemistry. Past course participants have also included government geologists, prospectors and mining engineers.
